Welcome to Christian Center Basketball

When the weather gets cold outside, it’s the perfect time to sign the kids up for indoor basketball leagues at The Christian Center. Starting in November and running through February (with time off for Christmas and the holidays), we offer Winter basketball leagues for boys and girls (age 5-18) on Saturday mornings. No matter if you’re a beginner or experienced basketball player, there is a Winter basketball league that’s perfect for you at The Christian Center in Peoria, Illinois.

2020-21 Season Information

Registration for the 2020-21 Basketball Season Kick-off Saturday, September 19th 10am – noon at The Christian Center

Cost UNTIL October 6

First Player – $75
Second Player – $70
Third Player – $65

Cost AFTER October 6

First Player – $85
Second Player – $80
Third Player – $75

Participants must be in the same family to receive discount.
Partial scholarships applications are available in person at The Christian Center.
If a player drops from the league a $10 fee will be deducted from your refund.

Beginner : Age 5 Co-ed

League Information & Registration

Eligibility : Participants must be age 5 before March 1, 2021 for the 2020-21 season. No exceptions.

Game Schedule : The Beginner League begins November 14 and will meet once a week on Saturday mornings. There will be a break during the Holidays with play resuming in January and ending in late February. Games will be played using 8ft rims. Game location: TBD

Evaluations : Beginner League is not evaluated.

Rookie : 1st & 2nd grade Co-ed

League Information & Registration

Game Schedule : The Rookie League begins in November 14 and will meet once a week on Saturday mornings. There will be a break during the Holidays with play resuming in January and ending in late February. Games will be played using 8ft rims. Game location: TBD .

Evaluations : Rookie League is not evaluated.

IBL : 3rd & 4th grade Co-ed

League Information & Registration

Game Schedule : The IBL League begins November 14 and will meet once a week on Saturday morning/ early afternoon. There will be a break during the Holidays with play resuming in January and ending in late February. Games will be played using 10ft. rims. All games will be played at Woodland Baptist Church, 6915 N Allen Road in Peoria.

Evaluations : If the participant did not play basketball with The Christian Center last year they must be evaluated. Participants needing an evaluation will receive a postcard with the day and time of their evaluation in early October. A player can be placed in a more advanced league based on an evaluation.

ABL : 5th & 6th grade Co-ed

League Information & Registration

Game Schedule : The ABL League begins November 14 and will meet once a week on Saturdays. There will be a break during the Holidays with play resuming in January and ending in late February. Games will be played using 10ft. rims. All games will be played at Peoria Christian School, 3506 N California Ave. in Peoria (location subject to change)

Evaluations : If the participant did not play basketball with The Christian Center last year they must be evaluated. Participants needing an evaluation will receive an email, and or postcard with the day and time of their evaluation in early October. A player can be placed in a more advanced league based on an evaluation.

JBL : 7th & 8th grade Co-ed

League Information & Registration

Game Schedule : The JBL League begins November 14 and will meet once a week on Saturdays. There will be a break during the Holidays with play resuming in January and ending in late February. Games will be played using 10ft. rims. All games will be played at Peoria Christian Middle School, 3725 N Monroe in Peoria Heights

Evaluations : If the participant did not play basketball with The Christian Center last year they must be evaluated. Participants needing an evaluation will receive an email, and or postcard with the day and time of their evaluation in early October. A player can be placed in a more advanced league based on an evaluation.

CCBA / High School League : 9th & 12th grade Co-ed

League Information & Registration

Eligibility : Participants must still be in High School and cannot exceed the age of 18 before March 1, 2021 for the 2020-21 season.

Game Schedule : The CCBA League begins November 10 or 12 and will meet once a week either on Tuesday or Thursday evenings. There will be a break during the Holidays with play resuming in January and ending in late February.

Games will be played using 10ft. rims. 1 game per week. Games will be played at Peoria First Church – Family Life Center 4020 N Brandywine Dr. Peoria 61614

Evaluations : If the participant did not play basketball with The Christian Center last year they must be evaluated. Participants needing an evaluation will receive an email, and or postcard with the day and time of their evaluation in early October.

What it means to be a Coach or an Assistant Coach

Head Coach – The Head Coach is the person who sets the spiritual & athletic tone for the team. The Coach is the direct liaison between the Christian Center Athletic Director & the families/players on the team. He/she runs the practices, leads the team during games, sets up a line of communication with the families. The Head Coach is our MVP (most valuable person) each season.

Assistant Coach – The Assistant Coach helps the Head Coach in all the duties that make for a successful season. Many times during a season the Assistant Coach will lead the team in the absence of the Head Coach. Though the responsibilities are not as great as the Head Coach, the Assistant Coach is key to the season running smoothly for their team/families.
